It’s a special day in sports — after an 11-year drought in major championships, with numerous injuries along the way, Tiger Woods is back in the winners’ circle. He entered the final round trailing Francesco Molinari, but a throwback performance from Tiger was good for his fifth green jacket.
With all of the hardships that he’s faced, this one couldn’t be any more special for Tiger, and that was immediately visible from his winning putt on.
Tiger also took to Twitter to share a classy message, reflecting on his journey back to the top and thanking his friends, family and fans.
Due to chronic back injuries, there was a point where Tiger struggled to walk, even to sit or stand. That he’s been able to come back at the age of 43 and climb his way back to the top is truly incredible, and of course, it’s something that Tiger is very much grateful for.
