Spike Lee might be the most famous NBA fan of all-time considering you can always catch him sitting courtside at New York Knicks games at Madison Square Garden, even during the franchise’s dark days.

With the 2019 NBA Draft being held in Brooklyn and the New York Knicks selecting third overall, you can bet Lee was in attendance for the draft to witness the moment New York selected RJ Barrett. Once the selection was announced, the 62-year-old film director showed his approval by celebrating as if the Knicks had just won a massive game.

The New York Knicks haven’t finished above .500 and have failed to make the playoffs since the 2012-13 season, but Spike Lee and thousands of other loyal Knicks fans believe this is the beginning of the franchise’s turnaround.
