Travis Dermott has been a nice addition to the Toronto Maple Leafs’ lineup this season. After getting a chance at some NHL action due to injuries, particularly the foot injury that kept Nikita Zaitsev out of action for an extended period, and he took advantage of that time by seeming to gain Mike Babcock’s trust.

Saying that, he’s still young and sometimes it shows. On Wednesday, Dermott’s adolescence came through in another light - his lack of preparation for his close-up.

At least that’s what he would tell you. Following Wednesday’s morning skate, Dermott met with the media to discuss the Buds’ upcoming matchup with the stars. When the Leafs tweeted out a thumbnail, Dermott wasn’t too happy with how he looked.

Fans responded with a little chirping of their own.

Next time you can bet Dermott will have a comb in his chest pocket. After all, Dermott was the Leaf that gave us one of the best looks of all moments after scoring his first NHL goal.

While he doesn’t need to worry about how he looks scoring another one of those, he seems to be just as excited when others score theirs.
