Trevor Zegras knows the American hockey scene, at least around his age, pretty darn well. The Bedford, New York native spent four years with the country’s hockey development program before making his way to Boston University and let’s not forget about that gold medel he took home at last year’s World Juniors. The 21-year-old is hoping to become a mainstay with the Ducks this season, but his bold take for the year actually has to do with one of his American comrades.

We’re talking about Cole Caufield, baby!

After the NHL asked in a tweet what everyone’s hottest take for the upcoming season is, Zegras made sure to show some love for his buddy in Montreal, and honestly… we’re not even sure how bold of a statement it is!

It didn’t take long for Caufield to make a name for himself with the Habs last season. In 10 regular season games, the 5’7 winger tallied four goals and added another four throughout his first postseason (which lasted 20 games). The 20-year-old spent time on a line with Nick Suzuki and Tyler Toffoli, and if that line sticks together, then who knows… he could even shoot for 50!!!!

So no we want to ask you… how many will Goal Caufield put up this year? And will Zegras score half as many over in Anaheim?!
