Buckle up hockey fans, because we`re in for one WILD World Juniors.

We`re just over ten days away and this year`s tourney could boast some of the best talent in its history, as a result of the NHL extending its start date to January 13. To give you some perspective, 20/25 players on Team Canada are first round picks.

Crazy!

Whether it’s a Canadian or a different player from the ridiculously robust talent pool at this year’s event, someone is going to score a big goal. It happens every year! So before we kick things off on Christmas day, let’s do a little reflecting… shall we?

There have been A LOT of important goas, but which one trumps all? Jordan Eberle’s epic tying goal from ’09 is probably the first one that comes to mind, but you might be surprised to see Luca and Jesse each go in a different direction. Let’s remember that Eberle’s goal was in the semis, whereas these next two actually clinched the tournament… in overtime!!!!

Hands down the biggest goal in each country’s World Junior history (well, maybe there’s an argument for Kapanen?). As for the ones that didn’t get mentioned… John Carlson’s OT winner from 2010 was definitely a big one, too.

If you’re looking for more World Js content, then we’ve got you covered. Expect more videos surrounding the tournament in the coming weeks… what do you think the most important goal in World Juniors history is?
