What seemed to be just another day at the ballpark for Yankees reporter Meredith Marakovits took an entertaining turn when she ended up on the wrong end of a gum toss, courtesy of Didi Gregorius.

The stunt was aimed at Gleyber Torres, who hit a walk off single in the 10th inning to win the game for the Bronx Bombers, but unfortunately the gum fell short. Instead it rained down on Marakovits, who looked unimpressed for a moment before returning to her interview as though nothing had happened. Torres didn’t even seem to really notice.

Very impressive that she remained so unfazed and was able to carry on the interview, a true professional. Gum-gate didn’t end there either, as Marakovits followed it up with a hilarious interview with Gregorius in which the two discuss the metrics behind the poorly executed toss.

She even followed it up with funny tweet in which she hashtags that she has passed concussion protocol and that no sideline reporters were injured in the making of this win.

Maybe this will be end of Gregorius’ gum throwing career, or maybe he just needs to hit the dugout and keep practicing…
