Every year, the Duke and North Carolina rivalry game is one of college basketball’s most widely anticipated games, and especially so this year. Four of the top prospects in this year’s NBA draft are facing off — UNC’s Nassir Little against Duke’s R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish and, of course, Zion Williamson.

Unfortunately, there was a bit of an injury scare of the very first play of the game. Zion slipped to the floor without any contact and immediately began gripping his leg/ankle area.

As it turns out, what happened was that he had literally stepped through his own shoe.

Zion broke out of his SHOE 😨

The worst seems to have avoided — Zion walked back to the locker room with just a minor limp, and while he has yet to return at the time of writing, the TV report from the sideline suggests that he’s just testing his leg out.

For more, we go to Barack Obama!

UPDATE: Zion limped back to the locker room under his own strength, and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a knee injury.
