The life of an NHL official is anything but glamorous.

Whether you're a referee or a linesman, you still have to deal with the same challenges like blocking out all of the 'boo birds' and chirps from fans, coaches and players.

Referees and linesman also have to avoid pucks being shot in their direction by the likes of Shea Weber and Zdeno Chara, and they have to deal with the fact that some players probably don't like them in certain moments.

Tuesday night during the Sharks and Rangers game, hockey fans everywhere got the sense of how lonely officials feel sometimes as this linesman was left by himself after a timeout was called late in the third just before a faceoff.

Rather than following suit, the linesman dropped the puck anyways, making for a great moment to say the least.

The look on Trent Knorr's face says it all. All he wanted to do was drop the puck and everyone left.

In all seriousness, practice makes perfect, and Trent getting an extra rep in to go viral was awesome.

Now he joins the great Wes McCauley in the officials gone viral department this season.
