The Ottawa Senators pulled off a massive trade this past weekend when they acquired Matt Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche in a blockbuster three-team trade.

Who came out on top in the three-way trade between the #Senators, #Avalanche and the #Predators? 🤔

The Sens gave up quite a few pieces in the deal in order to land the former first round draft pick and one of the players they gave up was goalie Andrew Hammond. Since Ottawa now has one less goalie in their organization, it means it’s time for some of their other young netminders to get a shot to prove what they can do.

One of the young goalies in their organization is 22-year-old Swedish netminder Marcus Hogberg. Selected in the third round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Hogberg spent the first four seasons after he was drafted in Sweden, but finally made the switch to North America last year.

On Wednesday, Hogberg unveiled his new Senators-themed mask and it looks sharp.

Hogberg played three games in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators last season after playing 33 with Linkopings HC of the Swedish Hockey League and is spending his first full season in North America this year.

The Senators are set with Craig Anderson and Mike Condon for the time being, but they have a few goalies waiting in the minors to get their shot.
