We imagine there's nothing more difficult than being traded by the team that drafted you after spending a significant amount of your career playing for said team.

P.K. Subban found that out in the summer.  After spending the first seven seasons of his NHL career as a member of the Montreal Canadiens, the 27-year-old was traded to Nashville for Shea Weber in a blockbuster deal.

While being traded was undoubtedly difficult for Subban, we imagine coming back to Montreal for the first time was equally as tough.

Thursday night was an emotional one for P.K. right off the bat as he was brought to tears by the incredible reception he got from the Montreal faithful.

After the game, Subban took to Instagram to return the favour by thanking Montreal with the perfect message.

Montreal je t'aime!

"Montreal, I love you."

Obviously the city of Montreal will always be in Subban's heart, but it's nice to see that fans have him in their hearts, too.

Although P.K. and the Preds lost, he was the real winner of a night that he was more than deserving of.
