Liam Fitzgerald has become a key piece of the Boston Bruins organization over the past few years.

Fitzgerald, also known as the Boston Bruins fist bump kid, was diagnosed with leukemia and won his fight against cancer back in 2013 and he has been honoured by the Bruins many times for his bravery and his perseverance.

On Thursday night, the Bruins hosted Hockey Fights Cancer night for their game against the Vancouver Canucks and you can bet young Liam was on the team’s bench to welcome the guys to the ice for warmups.

The team had other children on the ice ahead of the game, and one of them shared an adorable moment with Brad Marchand.

The young fans seemed to spark something in the Bruins players as they jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in the first period.
