Social media, specifically Twitter and Instagram, are great ways to pass time in the offseason as hockey fans await the beginning of the 2017-18 season.

During this time of year, goalies are unveiling their new gear for the upcoming season, players are showing off their workouts as they prepare for the season and teams, players and mascots are getting into fun Twitter wars.

The latest verbal sparring session on Twitter was between the Penguins and Golden Knights, and Vegas took the first shot when tweeting about an exclusive single game ticket presale.

The Penguins aren't slouches on Twitter, so they fired back, but Vegas got the last laugh.

It's unfortunate these two teams don't play in the same conference because the potential for a good rivalry is there, mostly due to the fact that Fleury is now a member of Vegas.

While the Golden Knights won the Twitter war, they'll have their hands full on December 14th when the Penguins come to town for the first time ever.
