The Toronto Raptors opened up their NBA postseason on Saturday night in Toronto and things did not go as planned.

The Raptors entered the game as the Eastern Conference’s No. 3 seed and took three of four regular season games from the Milwaukee Bucks. However, the postseason is a place where anything is possible, and the Bucks proved that in Game 1.

While most people would be rattled about losing Game 1 to the underdog on home court, the Raptors started their postseason in familiar Raptors fashion, with a Game 1 defeat.

It just wasn’t a good day overall for the Raps, despite playing in front of a sold out crowd. They couldn’t get anything going throughout the game, and the Bucks seemed to have their number all night long.

The only Game 1 victory in Raptors franchise history came back on Sunday, May 7, 2001, when they opened up their series with the Philadelphia 76ers with a 96-93 victory on the road.

While it wasn’t the greatest series opener for the Raps, it was a fantastic outing from the Bucks. They also had some previous issues with Game 1s and snapped a pretty terrible skid of their own.

Game 2 goes Tuesday night at the Air Canada Centre.
