Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson always talked about being ‘the most electrifying man in sports entertainment’ during his prime wrestling days, but that title definitely carries over to his everyday life.

The Hayward, California native made his wrestling debut back in the 1990’s and quickly made his way to the top thanks in part to the effort he put forth on a nightly basis and people are still doing their best impressions of the People’s Elbow to this day.

This past Sunday, the Detroit Lions got rocked in New Orleans, but they still got some decent performances out of their starting wide receivers. Early in the game with the Lions trailing 7-0, Matt Stafford connected with Golden Tate for a 45-yard touchdown and the 29-year-old receiver used his celebration to honour The Rock.

Since The Rock happens to be a former football player himself and a huge fan of the game, you can bet he ended up coming across the touchdown celebration and saluted Tate for his choice.

Apparently there was more to the celebration that was left out, and Tate wanted to let the former Miami Hurricane know he went all in and gave it his all.

This isn’t the first time a professional athlete has celebrated with the People’s Elbow. This past summer, Adebayo Akinfenwa celebrated his goal in Football League Two with the People’s Elbow, who The Rock also ended up saluting afterwards.

We wonder who will drop the next People’s Elbow in their celebration.
