Hockey and dogs are an adorably amazing combination, and recently, we've seen the combo quite a bit.

National Puppy Day occurred last week and plenty of NHLers took to social media to share pictures of them with their adorable dogs.

We also saw a dog rappel down from the rafters onto the ice ahead of a Dallas Stars game, and it was awesome.

The most recent dog and hockey combination comes from Washington where this adorable dog decided to play fetch on the ice at the Verizon Center ahead of the Caps and Coyotes game Saturday night.

Looks like our hockey-playing goalie dog has some competition.

The Capitals won the game 4-1, meaning they need to let a dog play on the ice before every game, not just for superstitious reasons, but for adorable reasons.
