The Toronto Maple Leafs lost a legend this week when George Armstrong passed away at the age of 91. Armstong was captain of the Leafs during the team’s last Stanley Cup in 1967, and he was also captain for three other Cups.

Conn Smythe called him the greatest Leafs captain of all-time.

As the news circulated, memories and tributes to Armstrong flowed in. On Tuesday, the Leafs paid tribute to Armstrong by taking the ice wearing #10 warm-up jerseys and donning a custom patch for their game against the Calgary Flames.

The #10 is retired in Leafs land, so this will likely be the last time Leafs will ever wear it. You will be missed, George. Rest in peace.
