Earlier this week, Alexander Ovechkin, the greatest goal scorer of this generation, passed Maurice Richard on all the all-time goals list against the Penguins.

Ovi is all alone in 29th place on the all-time goals list and he's third among active players in career goals behind only Jaromir Jagr and Jarome Iginla.

With a little less than half a season still left to play, Ovechkin has a great opportunity to continue moving up the all-time goals list, so with that in mind, here are five players he can pass on list by the end of the season.

Catching Lafleur and Modano could be tough, but 16 goals in 40 games, assuming Ovi plays in every game, is not outlandish for him at all.

By seasons end, don't be surprised if "The Great 8" is all alone in 24th place on the all-time goals list, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say he could finish the season as high as 22nd on the list if he scores 19 goals in the last 40 games.
