The San Jose Sharks have been fighting for a playoff spot without Joe Thornton for well over a month now.  On January 25th, Thornton had surgery on his injured right MCL and he still hasn't resumed skating.

That said, his season isn't over, especially if the team makes the playoffs and when you consider he played through a torn ACL and MCL during the postseason last year.

For now, Thornton is doing everything he can to get healthy, and apparently catching the Sharks' game against the Canucks from the stands is part of that recovery.

So this guy looks exactly like #JoeThornton! . (đź“·: @sanjosesharks)

You thought we were serious and until we get a DNA test to confirm that is not Thornton, we don't know what else to think.

In all seriousness, Thornton's doppelgänger looks exactly like the Sharks' forward and we wouldn't be surprised if fans went up to him thinking he was Jumbo Joe.

Thornton can now join the club of NHL players with an identical looking doppelgänger.
