When it's all said and done, Dirk Nowitzki will go down as the greatest European player to ever play in the NBA. On top of winning an MVP award, appearing in 13 All-Star Games, and winning an NBA title, Dirk is often referred to as one of the most loyal players in the league.

The Big German has spent all 19 years of his career with the Mavericks, and a lot of that has had to do with him taking team-friendly deals to help the organization keep under the cap and remain competitive. During the offseason Dirk and the Mavs mutually agreed to not exercise his $25 million option, and instead signed a two-year $10 million free agent deal, once again saving the team money.

Friday, Dirk took to Twitter to share a special gift from a fan who wanted to thank him for always taking pay cuts for the Mavs.

Dirk definitely eats more than $20 worth of food for lunch, but it looks like he really appreciated the note and the kind gesture. Also doesn't hurt that he's still earned more than $250 million throughout his career.
