One of the best parts about the winter time is seeing everyone’s outdoor rink come together as the temperatures drop throughout North America.

Considering most of North America is experiencing a colder winter than they’re used to, a lot of hockey players have been able to play some outdoor hockey on some unusual outdoor rinks this year.

A couple of weeks ago it got so cold in Edmonton that a bunch of the roads froze over and were thick layers of ice.

Of course, since this happened in Edmonton of all places, you can bet the residents took full advantage of their new outdoor rink.

Nothing more #Canadian than when your entire street turns into an #ODR. . . (Via @allsportscycle)

These conditions definitely aren’t good to drive in, but hockey is a completely different story.

Here are some of the pics from the same street.

You’ve probably never seen an entire residential street freeze over like that, so might as well lace up your skates and take advantage of it when it does.
