For a few short hours on June 19th. Florida Panthers forward Mike Hoffman was the NHL’s biggest suitcase.

With basically the snap of a finger, the 29-year-old went from an Ottawa Senator, to a San Jose Shark, then in no time at all, a Florida Panther. The Sharks appeared to have gotten a pretty deal when they first acquired Hoffman along with prospect defenceman Cody Donaghey and a 2020 fifth round pick, surrendering Mikkel Boedker, defenceman Julius Bergman and a 2020 6th round pick. But just like that, he was sent to Florida in exchange for a 2019 second round pick and fourth and fifth round 2018 selections.

Hoffman and the Panthers headed to San Jose for the first time since the move and of course, a fan just had to make light of the situation by making a banner of his short time with the team. This dude stuck out like a sore thumb!

Sharks legend Mike Hoffman 😂😂

And what a time it was!

Hoffman’s enjoying a career a year with 33 goals and 63 points through just 70 games so far this season, two of which came in last night’s matinee at SAP Arena (1 G, 1 A). Things have clearly been working out, but the prospect of adding him to a core including Joe Pavelski, Brent Burns, Logan Couture, Evander Kane and Joe Thornton is just flat-out frightening!

As it turns out, Hoffman took notice of the sign and expressed his respect for the fan base. We wonder how much value that banner actually has?

Some banners, signs, or whatever the writing is on are just too good to be true.
