Imagine if your favourite hockey team won the Stanley Cup and you received a piece of the Stanley Cup in the mail. That’s kind of what AFC Ajax did for their season-ticket holders who weren’t able to watch them win the league title in person because of the pandemic.

As a way to celebrate the title with their fans, the team decided to melt down the trophy and turned it into stars for all 42,000 of their season-ticket holders.

The stars weigh 3.45g with 0.06g of it coming directly from the trophy, and now all their season-ticket holders get to own a piece of the league title forever.

It’s the club’s 35th Eredivisie title in franchise history and sixth title within the past 10 seasons, but it’s the only one that was melted down and shipped out to 42,000 supporters.
