Many former NBA players have found a second wind playing in Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league, and the league has certainly carved a niche for itself with its distinctive 3-on-3 style of play.

After Davis' team, Power, defeated 3’s Company to win the league championship on Friday, former Boston Celtic Glen “Big Baby” Davis tearfully took to the podium, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity that the league offered him.

Davis, notably, was facing assault and drug charges earlier in the year when the season began.

“[BIG3 commissioner] Clyde [Drexler] stood by me, he knew who I was as a person. His team stood by me, in spite of what everybody said out there or what they think or what they might see, and I thank you guys for that.” —Glen Davis

Yes, that’s former NBAer Cuttino Mobley planting a big ole smooch on Davis in the middle of his tearjerking speech.

In nine seasons with the Celtics, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers, Davis developed into something of a fan favorite with his effort and enthusiasm on the court. Probably the most enduring image of his career is when, after a hustle play in the 2010 NBA Finals, Nate Robinson jumps on Davis’ back as Davis literally drools in excitement.

BIG3 founder, and of course, legendary N.W.A rapper Ice Cube recently joined Cabbie to talk about the league, loyalty in sports, LeBron James’ move to LA, and more.
