It takes one glance at the comment section of any article, graphic, or news update on Alex Burrows retirement to understand that he was not the most well-liked player in the league.

The agitator announced that he was hanging up the skates after 13 season in the NHL. While many players do this after deciding that the demanding life of a professional athlete is taking away time with friends and family, that doesn't seem to be the case with Mr. Burrows.

Very shortly after announcing that he would no longer be playing in the NHL, it almost instantly came out that he was not leaving the sport. Burrows will now suit up in a tie and blazer to act as assistant coach for the Laval Rockets.

The Pincourt, Quebec, native played in the QMJHL for two years where he managed to rack up 51 goals and 49 assists as a member of the Shawinigan Cataractes. Undrafted to the NHL, he had a successful 13-year career where he was one of few players that had the privilege of playing alongside Daniel and Henrik Sedin.

No rest for the weary.
