The Summer of Ovi? That’s behind us. Welcome to... the Winter of Ovi! While NHL teams have a couple of days off to spend the holidays with their families, the Washington Capitals made sure we still got our fill of Ovi and the Caps for Christmas in this brilliant team cover of The 12 Days of Christmas.
These guys might be great singers, but their singing? Hmm, we think that could use some work! But, all the same, we love this video.
Look, if it’s the first day of Christmas and your true love is already giving up a cup made by Lord Stanley, that’s real. Simple as that.
This gimmick of NHL players performing little sing-alongs and other Christmas bits seems to be on the rise this year, as more and more teams get involved. It’s fantastic, and we’re especially fans of Zach Bogosian and Carter Hutton’s reenactment of a classic scene from Christmas Vacation — just one of many holiday releases from the Sabres this year.
