Andrew McCutchen has always been a player with flair, but he doesn’t generally do it with bat flips.
McCutchen isn’t usually obliterating balls, so he’s often hustling out of the box – not giving himself much time to admire his work. We’re massive fans of bat flips, but part of what makes them special is that not everyone does them and they’re usually reserved for big moments.
McCutchen seems to like bat flips, but he was a little taken back from where he was seeing them last night.
It’s a seemingly harmless tweet, but of course fans were sure to jump into his mentions and criticize him for missing the playoffs. One fan made some assumptions that McCutchen would be sitting on his couch, sadly watching the game, but the picture that McCutchen paints isn’t so grim. He makes sure to point out that he has great company in his comfortable bed.
