Only a couple of games were played in the NHL tonight, but they featured two of the bigger rivalries in the game.

The Maple Leafs hosted the Senators at Scotiabank Arena while just a few hours south, the Rangers hosted the Bruins in an original six tilt. Toronto took care of business with a 5-4 victory but New York and Boston required a shootout to break their deadlock. In the seventh round, Rangers defenceman Anthony DeAngelo ultimately scored the winner but it was his celebration after his goal that stood out as one of the highlights of the game. After sniping top right corner, the defender skated past the Bruins’ bench and ruthlessly chirped the team. It’s tough to make out exactly what he said but it was a gutless move nonetheless.

Fans were loving it on Twitter afterward.

A first round pick by the Lightning in 2014, DeAngelo was traded to the Arizona Coyotes before getting shipped to the Rangers for the 2017-18 season. The 23-year-old’s mouth has gotten him in trouble before, as he was suspended for eight games by the OHL’s Sarnia Sting in 2014 for a slur directed at his teammate. His comments towards the Bruins’ bench however, didn’t look like anything too harmful.

The two teams will meet next on March 27 in Boston so Bruins players will have to wait until then to exact their revenge.
