The Toronto Maple Leafs returned home in Game 3 of their series against Boston and got back into the series with a 4-2 win, and the fans got back into the series as well.

The team had suffered two discouraging losses in Games one and two, so fans were feeling a little deflated coming into the game. The Leafs grabbed two leads early in the game, but after the Bruins tied it again, it seemed like one moment really turned the tide. A slick pass from William Nylander led to an absolute snipe from Auston Matthews and the crowd went wild.

Just from Matthews’ reaction you could tell it was a pretty special moment and the way he described it makes it feel even more emotional.

Immediately following the goal, the fans then started chanting his name (WATCH IT HERE).

While this may have brought the crowd to life, things can quickly change in Game Four. Obviously a win or loss will be the difference between tying the series up and going back to Boston with some momentum, or being on the brink of elimination.

Perhaps another couple earthquakes will help.
