In recent years, the game has gotten a little more fun off the field of play as a new generation of athletes lean into being a little more casual, expressive and, well, themselves. Rocking the best pre-game fit on Instagram can get about as competitive as the actual game action.

So, Sports Illustrated released their Fashionable 50 spotlighting the most stylish athletes across sports, and a couple of hockey guys got the nod. Auston Matthews, no stranger to the high fashion world, made the list, joined by P.K. Subban, Evander Kane and Henrik Lundqvist. No surprises there, we think!

Lundqvist has been a mainstay on this annual list by SI, for his “polished style and European flair” over a lengthy NHL career. Kane, likewise, is known for his suited and booted style, while Subban and Matthews are more wildcards with their own, ah, unique taste.

Other athletes that made the list include Canadian NBAer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Serge Ibaka of the Raptors and Lindsey Vonn to form out quite a fashion power couple with her husband Subban. (Seems like Connor McDavid caught the snub, though!)

Of course, we’re well familiar with Subban’s impeccable style and especially his preference for those huge, huge hats, after he gave the breakdown on Cabbie Presents.
