Grappling with a playoff elimination can never be easy, and it certainly wasn’t for Blake Wheeler. After a reporter asked him about the team’s expectations before the game, he snapped back and made it clear how he felt.

To Wheeler’s credit, he does go on to offer his thoughts on the topic, praising the Jets for playing until the final whistle.

While Winnipeg was able to crawl back from a 3-0 deficit by scoring two goals in the third period to make things interesting — one in the final minute — they simply ran out of time to make the comeback happen, and so it’ll be the Blues, one of the hottest teams in the league since the calendar flipped to 2019, advancing on.
