Patrik Laine isn’t one to show too much emotion, so when he does they can be… misconstrued.

The 22-year-old hit the ice for the first time with his new squad on Tuesday and although he’s said over and over again how excited he is to join his new squad, it didn’t necessarily look that way as he hit the ice. Well in fairness, he did manage to crack a smile but it definitely wasn’t the biggest one we’ve ever seen.

Yeah, wouldn’t expect much else from Patty but hey, he’s definitely a character. Not everyone is convinced the Finn is happy in his new home though, including Bruins forward Brad Marchand. The guy couldn’t help but share how he thinks Patty really feels about joining his new buddies in Ohio.

The 2016 second overall pick played his first game later with the team and didn’t exactly have the strongest outing, going -2 in 20:54 minutes of ice. Regardless, it was strange seeing him in his new threads for Jets fans alike.

We’re sure Laine will have his share of memorable moments as the season progresses.
