The Capitals are currently in the midst of a road trip through Western Canada and by all accounts, they're enjoying their time north of the border.

Axe-throwing was just one of the team-bonding activities the Capitals did while in Whistler. Another was listening to goaltender Braden Holtby jam out.  The 29-year-old played a set for this teammates at the Dubh Linn Gate and thankfully we've got video of the performance.

Holtby is at home with a guitar in his hand and as Sports Illustrated's Alex Prewitt detailed in an article back in 2016, playing is a pre-game ritual for the Stanley Cup champion.

"The guitar lives inside a small office at the Washington Capitals’ practice facility, removed from its leathery case only for the game-day jam sessions. Showtime typically comes around noon, squeezed into the window after the morning skate and team meeting, once the artist finishes getting rubbed down by the team masseuse. The setlist trends heavy on Indie and modern rock, particularly Jack Johnson, but requests are taken too. The crowd comes and goes, mostly other players visiting manager of team operations Rob Tillotson, who works behind his desk while songs flow from the chair near the door. But every so often, someone will stop and listen to the acoustic stylings of goaltender-turned-jukebox Braden Holtby."

This summer, Holtby's parents even gifted him with a guitar for winning the Stanley Cup and he took some pictures with the guitar and Cup.

Holtby's in his zone right now and so are the Caps as they've started the season 4-2-2, good for third place in the Metropolitan Division.
