The NHL community received some upsetting news on Tuesday as the New Jersey Devils unveiled that Brian Boyle had been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.

Shortly after the news went public, players and representatives from all around the league reached out to Boyle to show their support and to let him know they have his back moving forward.

After receiving hundreds of messages from past and present NHL players and fans across the league, Boyle showed how much he appreciated everyone’s messages by sharing a tweet of his own.

The tweet includes images of Boyle on four of the five NHL teams he has represented and each picture included a special message.

Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Boyle still plans on playing on opening night as long as he gets clearance from the medical team, and he’ll have thousands backing him as he battles the cancer.
