Hockey fans have a lot to look forward to this year.  Aside from the postseason, which is always exciting, the Las Vegas Golden Knights will be debuting next season.

Before they debut, however, they'll have to draft their team by way of the expansion draft, and we'd venture to say that hockey fans of any team will be pumped for that event as the Golden Knights will be selecting players from the current NHL franchises.

Once they have their players, the next big date will be their first preseason game, and we imagine that fans are going to pack the T-Mobile Arena to cheer on their team.  Of course, with the Golden Knights being in Las Vegas, it wouldn't be outlandish to say a lot of big names will be there to support the team, much like in New York and Los Angeles.

Apparently one of those big names that will be supporting the team is none other than Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals.

Immediately after this was announced, the Capitals Twitter account responded:

Now, before you rip Harper for cheering for the Golden Knights and not the team from the city he plays baseball in, he's from Las Vegas, so it makes sense that he's now a fan of the new team.

First of all, great move by the Golden Knights to get a superstar as big as Bryce to endorse the team.  The more big names associated with the organization in some capacity the better.

Secondly, Harper is pretty good at stick handling by the looks of it.

Las Vegas fans, don't be surprised if Harper's at some games during the offseason next year.
