The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t have a good one in Week 4, getting shredded in a 48-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Their head coach, Dirk Koetter, knows this! When asked post-game if he would consider replacing his defensive coordinator, Koetter suggested doing a lot more than just that.

“Based on that game today, we couldn’t make enough changes. We should fire every person that was on that field today, starting with me. That was horrific.” —Dirk Koetter

By limiting himself to only speaking on the game that occurred today, Koetter was basically able to talk as emotionally as he wanted with none of the consequences. Firing somebody based off one game is very different than firing somebody from their full body of work.

But still, those are some heavy-handed words, and maybe they’ll spark that locker room.

The Bucs are still 2-2, so they don’t look in poor shape by any means. After a torrid start to the season, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has slowed down some, but of course, they still have Jameis Winston to turn to, and Winston did in fact take over on Sunday.

As for that defense? Well, maybe they’ll be better in the next one out, or, maybe the team will make some changes after all.

The loss to the Bears marks a second consecutive week of rough times for the Bucs defense, after safety Chris Conte was made victim of an absolutely brutal stiff-arm by Vance McDonald.
