All of Canada has spent the last week supporting each other through the horrible bus crash that has taken the lives of 16 people. The bus was that of the Humboldt Broncos team bus, an SJHL team from Saskatchewan, and many of those who passed were members of the team. In response to the devastation, Canada – and beyond – has jumped into action in an effort to support all those impacted.

On Sunday, Brooke Henderson – a native of Smith Falls, Ontario – won the Lotte Championship in Hawaii. While the cameras were on, Henderson took a moment to discuss the tragedy, and also dedicated the win to the Broncos.

Henderson is the latest of a long, and growing, list of athletes and celebrities to pay tribute. In the hopes that they can help to ease the pain as much as possible, these public figures are using their platforms to make a difference.

Hopefully a tragedy like this doesn’t strike again anytime soon, but there can be some solace taken in the fact that when it does people will be there. From coast to coast, everyone has stepped up to try and make a difference – even if it’s in the smallest way.
