It was a historic day for Canada at the Olympics.  In women's ski cross, Canada won gold and silver to increase its medal total to 26.

26 is a significant number because that's the record for Canada for total medals at a Winter Olympics and it was set on home soil in 2010.

Later on, Canadian figure skater Kaetlyn Osmond had a chance to break that record and a masterful outing on the ice allowed her to do just that.

Osmond was guaranteed a silver or bronze after her skate, but ultimately ended up with bronze after the final skater beat her score.

We doubt that matters to her at this point, though, because bronze is an incredible accomplishment and Osmond's name will go down in the history books as the athlete to capture Canada's 27th medal, a new record.

Once the results were final, the internet congratulated her on her bronze medal and celebrated the new record.

There are still a number of events to go, so Canada can increase their record in the final days of the Olympics.
