It’s been another tough season for Joey Votto and the Reds. The Canadian baseball legend is in his 12th season with the organization, and the team is once again mirrored in mediocrity with a 34-47 record at the bottom the National League Central.

Frustrations have started to boil over for Votto. On Wednesday night, he was ejected for the first time in three years after arguing a called strike in the very first inning.

Jump ahead to Thursday and Votto was once again upset with the way balls and strikes were being called by the home-plate umpire and he didn't shy away from letting Roberto Ortiz know exactly how he felt about his calls.

During that interaction, Brewers catcher Erik Kratz said something that triggered Votto, because shortly after, the two got right into it, causing the benches to clear.

Following the game, Kratz gave a pretty hilarious answer as to why him and Votto almost went toe-to-toe.

Tensions weren’t high for everyone, though.

Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar tried to keep things from further escalating.

There’s nothing quite like two teams full of grown men running onto the field to calm down their compadres from starting a fist fight because they disagreed on something.

The Brewers would get the last laugh, as they came from behind to defeat the Reds 6-4.
