Connor Carrick has had an up and down career in the NHL so far, but one thing people have always seen in him is potential – and he’s showing Crosby like potential after getting his wisdom teeth out, just not in the way that he would hope.
Most NHL players would hope to compare to Crosby’s level of play on the ice, not his face-swelling abilities off of it.
If you missed it a couple years back, there was a weird time in the NHL where the mumps (A viral disease that can cause swelling in the parotid glands) and Sidney Crosby was the most obvious case of it. His jaw/neck area swelled up a great deal, like an extreme case of getting your wisdom teeth out – which is where Connor Carrick’s comparison comes in.
He later shared an image on his Instagram page to show off his new wisdom toothless face. He’s not quite Crosby level, but nobody is really – even in terms of face-swelling.
Take a look for yourself, this looks like there was something very wrong but obviously everyone was okay in the end.
