Without any real hockey for us to watch right now, many NHL teams have taken to streaming their games on NHL 20 for fans, and one performance from Thursday’s virtual slate of games definitely caught our attention.

Starting in goal for the videogame New Jersey Devils, Cory Schneider stepped up in a huge way, saving 98 of 102 shots against the Calgary Flames. Yes, you read that correctly: 98 saves on 102 shots!

The best part? After the digital Schneider made all those saves, Devils in-house reporter Amanda Stein spoke with the real deal for thoughts on his (“his”) big game!

If NHL 20’s Cory Schneider can maintain his .961 save percentage while facing over a hundred shots per game, we might just have to award him the real-life Vezina. Don’t see any other way around it.

This is absolutely the heartwarming content we need right now during the NHL hiatus.
