Edmonton Oilers fans did not get the result they wanted on Monday night, but they have to feel encouraged by defenceman Darnell Nurse’s play.

The 26-year-old has been a staple on the Oil’s blue line all season and rose to the occasion during Game 4 against the Jets… at least when it came to ice-time. Nurse logged in a ridiculous 62:07 (the third highest amount in NHL history) and one shift very much stood out from the rest.  Is 4:47 long enough? Because he remained on the ice for that span, and then returned 47 seconds later.

Remarkable.

Is that good?

Nurse finished the game with two shots on goal and a plus one rating. He finished the regular season with a career-high in goals (16) and a team-high 25:38 of ice-time per game, the fourth highest total in the league from the past season. The Hamilton native averaged 38:39 in the playoff which is just insane.

Tough way to go but what an effort by Nurse.
