The Toronto Raptors are NBA Champions, and even some of their former players such as Delon Wright and Jonas Valanciunas will be receiving rings for the victory. DeMar DeRozan does not fall into that category, as he was dealt to the San Antonio Spurs before the season began, but he is likely the most deserving former Raptor of all.

DeMar spent the first nine years of his NBA career with the Dinos before joining San Antonio in the blockbuster Kawhi Leonard trade. After showing loyalty to Canadian franchise, something that has lacked in the past, it caused a lot of heartache to watch DeMar leave Toronto. It caused even more to think about him watching them win the whole thing.

Now with the offseason upon us, the Raps are preparing to visit Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in office. The real question became whether or not they’d visit Washington D.C. for a meeting with American President Donald Trump, something that players have opted out of in the past.

Raps Head Coach Nick Nurse was non-committal on visiting the White House, and with players stating their lack of interest in participating in the tradition it is starting to look more and more like the Raptors keeping their government visits north of the border.

DeMar DeRozan was asked what he would do, and he was the most straight up out of anyone.

We’re thinking DeMar may not get the invite if he manages to win a championship during Trump’s term.
