The New Jersey Devils have one of the most famous fans of all time, but he’s actually a fictional character.

David Puddy, played by Patrick Warbuton, was a mechanic/car salesman and avid New Jersey Devils fan. In fact, the plot of one episode basically surrounds Puddy’s Devils fandom because he goes as far as painting his face and body to attend games. Well, that has become a pop culture piece so popular that it has reached the New Jersey Devils locker room.

Even the actor himself is pretty honoured with the appearance.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Puddy has been associated with a real New Jersey Devils player.

Scott Wedgewood, a goalie prospect that spends most of his time with the Albany Devils actually had Puddy painted on his mask.
