Dirk Nowitzki is one of the most respected players in the NBA. The future Hall of Famer is currently playing in his 21st NBA season and a lot of fans are wondering whether or not this is going to be his final year in the league. Although he hasn’t come out and confirmed what his plan for next season is just yet, fans around the league are giving him the proper sendoff he deserves, just in case he does call it a career this summer.

On Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks made their lone trip of the season to Madison Square Garden and the 40-year-old forward got a standing ovation from the Knicks faithful as he checked into the game for the first time.

Nowitzki loves playing against the Knicks more than any other team in the league.

In 35 games against New York, the 13-time All-Star is averaging a career-best 22.8 points per game against them, to go along with 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
