Well that was quick.

It took just four games for the Carolina Hurricanes to make waste of the New York Islanders' season, finishing them off with a 5-2 victory on home ice Friday night. β€˜Canes players were visibly ecstatic about the win, but it had a bit of extra significance for a select few. As the saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold and Dougie Hamilton made that extremely clear during handshakes to cap off the series.

Remember when Brock Nelson tapped Curtis McElhinny on the head after Josh Bailey scored his second goal, and then roughed it up a bit with Hamilton right after? The defenceman made sure to return the favour before officially sending Nelson and his teammates off to the fairways.

Hockey fans didn’t seem to have much of an issue with it.

And then there was this fan, who predicted how the whole thing would play out…

You got your wish @Allie874, you got your wish.

If this, along with his season coming to an end wasn’t enough for Nelson, unfortunately we have some more information that will only add salt to his gigantic wound. The Isles became the first team sine the 1993 Buffalo Sabres to pull off a sweep in the first round and then get swept in the following series.

Life comes at you fast 😳
