The Toronto Raptors championship run was all sorts of fun. Watching the whole country rally behind a team that historically have been perpetual underdogs, and seeing them go all the way is one of the coolest moments in Canadian sports history. This was thanks in large part to the one year of wonder that Kawhi Leonard brought with him north of the border.

Unfortunately, there was one dark cloud that loomed overhead the whole time. For the most part, Canadians tried to ignore it and focus on the run, but Kawhi’s decision was coming and nobody knew what to expect.

In the end, Kawhi decided to go home. He joined Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that broke the hearts of Raptors fans everywhere. Then the question became about how Canadians would feel about him after finding out about his decision.

Turns out, he’s still feeling the love north of the border. In fact, one of the most well-known figures in Toronto and Raptors superfan Drake still has his jersey hanging his house.
