Last night on TSN’s Insider Trading Darren Dreger had some news about the Ottawa Senators beyond the potential trade of Erik Karlsson.
There have been rumours here and there about other players as well, but Dreger mentioned that it’s possible that every single one of them gets traded. If this somehow happened, the Senators would be a totally different team. The Sens have already traded both Dion Phaneuf and Kyle Turris this season, so adding these players to their list of trades would complete a total overhaul.
After Rodenburg quoted that information, Steve Warne thought he try to work out what Ottawa’s lineup could look like after trading such a significant portion of their current NHL roster and it’s… unrecognizable.
On top of that, as many have already mentioned, Bobby Ryan could also be paired with Karlsson in a trade (Or at least Ottawa could want to do that). Take Bobby Ryan out of that and it gets even farther from their opening day roster.
Just look their lineup on opening day and it really shows you how much change could be coming in the nation’s capital.
