One of the best player rivalries in the NHL will come to the forefront on Monday night in Calgary.

Matthew Tkachuk vs. Drew Doughty.

Back in Tkachuk's rookie season in 2016-17, the now 21-year-old caught the Norris Trophy winner with a nasty elbow to the face that resulted in Tkachuk being suspended for two games.

Since then, the two have had run-ins during their divisional battles over the course of the last two seasons.

Before Monday's showdown, Doughty was asked to speak on the feud and explained why it's stemmed from Tkachuk's agitating antics out on the ice.

The Flames and Kings' sit at the polar opposites of each other in the Pacific, as the Flames occupy first overall with 101 points, while the Kings sit in the basement with 62.
