Kevin Durant is a mysterious figure in the NBA and for someone who has dominated headlines since he went down with injury, he has still remained out of the media spotlight, until now.

Durant sat down with Chris Haynes for his first interview in two months and one thing that might catch the eye of Raptors fans is that he finally addressed the debate about Raptors fans cheering on his injury. While he says he didn’t actually anything on that night (he probably wasn’t too focused on what the crowd was saying) he did have a message for Raptors fans. It was not a positive message.

“Durant doesn’t remember hearing the fans that night, but he has something for them to hear now.

‘It will probably be the last time they will be in the Finals,’ Durant told Yahoo Sports with a smirk.”

That’s the only time Durant addresses anything to do with the Raptors, but there is a lot of other interesting info in there. He also states that no one (player or staff) within the Warriors organization pressured him to play on his injury, that the only team he was ever going to leave the Warriors for was the Nets and that the reason he joined the Nets was “Because [he] wanted to”.

This interaction will be remembered for a long time, and it’s probably fair to say that Raptors fans can give up on the dream of Durant joining his childhood favourite team.
