Erik Karlsson might be the best defenceman in the NHL and may go down as one of the greatest to ever play the position – but a defenceman is nothing without his partner.
That’s a definite rule on the ice, but we’re sure Karlsson would say the same about his partner off the ice. Karlsson made headlines earlier this season when he proposed with his engagement ring in a box of pizza, and now he and Melinda Currey have officially tied the knot. We’ve seen Karlsson attend several other NHL weddings this offseason, but finally he was able to attend his own.
Of course, being an Ottawa Senator for his whole career, there were plenty of past and present Sens in attendance, with a few Swedish NHL players sprinkled in as well.
Stayling loyal to the city of Ottawa, the couple actually held their wedding in the National Art Gallery of Canada, which made for a perfect spot.
Congratulations to the happy couple and we hope they had some pizza on their special night.
